Ever wondered what the fuss is around open-source operating systems? It's so simple you can try it out today!
I found Ubuntu very easy to use and great for those who have never ventured into Linux. Simply download an image file, burn it on a CD, and boot from the CD.
You can run the OS from the CD without having to install it on your system just to try it out. It's called live CD and if you are happy with it, then you can run the installation while still using the system.
How cool is that?

Web apps that just work!
Being a techo by profession, I try to steer away from techie stuff so I am not spending more and more of my time (and life) entwined in technology. Well, so I thought.
These days the more time I spend using Gmail, the more I keep finding wonderful applications that Google developers keep churning. And you know what the biggest drawcard is? These guys "get it"!
They just seem to know how they can virally tap into the minds of end users and deliver killer apps that everyday people find useful and easy to use.
First, I started off with gMail, which was quickly followed with Google Talk. Then came Picasa (photos), and now Blogger.
Where will it end? I hope not anytime soon. I used to be a web developer, and I can't see much sense in having to write code myself when I can syndicate content for my website from Google apps.
I don't normally get sucked in, but I hate to say that I am loving it!
Now, where is that gPhone?
